Dr. Medendorp, Chief Executive Officer and President, is a seasoned technology and product development leader with over 80 US patents in LED and lighting products. Nick has over 19 years of experience in the technology development industry and has served in a broad range of functions, including electro-optics, product development, manufacturing, and marketing. He received his B.S., M.S. and PhD in Materials Engineering from Purdue University.
Mr. Knape is the Senior Director of Regulatory, Quality, and Clinical Affairs. He has over 28 years of experience in medical device regulatory, quality and clinical affairs management. He has submitted over 140 clinical trial protocols and has a diverse product knowledge, with 11 PMA’s and 32 510(K) global device approvals. He received his B.S. in Medical Technology & Bioengineering from the University of Wyoming.
Mr. Lay, Director of Design and Development, has over 20 years extensive experience in product design, engineering and managing product development. He is an inventor on over 85 issued US patents and a recipient of the IDEA Design Silver award. His portfolio includes a diverse set of products from consumer products, commercial & consumer lighting, rehabilitation mobility and trade show exhibits. He received his B.S. of Industrial Design from Auburn University.
Mr. Reynolds is the Director of Engineering at PhotonMD. He’s an experienced manager of electronics and research design, and previously assisted in the growth and success of a multi-million dollar company’s including EchoStar Communications, National Semiconductor & CREE. Mr. Reynolds formerly served at the Global IC Applications Manager at Texas Instruments. In his spare time Matthew Reynolds will most certainly be found outdoors either riding his bike, rock climbing fishing or building a tree house. He received his B.S. in Electronics Engineering from the University of Massachusetts.
Mr. Sharron, Director of Operations, is responsible for the company’s global chain supply and manufacturing. He has over 12 years of operations leadership experience and has worked exclusively in the medical device industry since 2012. Prior to joining PhotonMD, Jesse led global supply chain and manufacturing for TranS1/Baxano Surgical and TransEnterix. Mr. Sharron is a former Marine Corps Staff Sergeant and served in Operation Enduring Freedom. He received his B.S. in Integrated Supply Chain and Operations Management from the University of Phoenix and his MBA from the University of North Carolina - Wilmington.
Mr. Zarnosky is the Corporate Controller. Prior to joining PhotonMD, he was the Director of Accounting and Finance for a SAAS based Healthcare Technology company, Medfusion, Inc. Previously he held various finance and accounting positions with Cree, Inc. and was a Manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers, specializing in publicly traded and private companies with a focus in the consumer products sector. Mr. Zarnosky started his career as Assistant State Auditor in North Carolina and Ohio. He received his BSBA in Accounting from Youngstown State University, his MS in Accounting from Kent State University, and his MBA from East Carolina University.
Dr. Reighard is a Senior Scientist with over 10 years of experience in bioanalytical chemistry and biophysics. Her expertise focuses on measuring nitric oxide and the downstream biological reactions induced by reactive oxygen and reactive nitrogen species. At PhotonMD, Dr. Reighard studies the biological reactions activated by light in vitro and in vivo to help design phototherapy solutions that target and correct the underlying causes of diseases. Dr. Reighard received her Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she researched the impact of exogenous nitric oxide on bacterial biofilms and airway mucus associated with cystic fibrosis.
